Webster Technique

Webster Technique

Chiropractic care in pregnancy is vital to the normal physiological function of both the mother and baby throughout pregnancy and birth. More women and birth providers are discovering the many benefits associated with chiropractic care in pregnancy and recognize this area of expertise through Webster Certification.

The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic sacral analysis and diversified adjustment. The goal of the adjustment is to reduce the effects of sacral subluxation/ SI joint dysfunction. In doing so, neuro-biomechanical function in the pelvis is facilitated.

Sacral subluxation may contribute to difficult labor for the mother (i.e., dystocia), caused by inadequate uterine function, pelvic contraction, and baby mal-presentation. Correction of sacral subluxation may have a positive effect on all of these causes of dystocia.

Network Spinal

Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic was originally defined as a philosophy science and art of things natural.  A system of adjusting the segments of the spinal column by hand only for the correction of the cause of dis-ease.  This dis-ease refers to an abnormal change in the tone, or frequency of the nervous system due to a condition called vertebral subluxation. You can think of this like when an instrument comes out of tune and doesn’t sound quite right.  For over 100 years chiropractors have been implementing different techniques to guide the body in correcting these vertebral subluxations and restoring a more coherent tone to the nervous system.

Network Spinal Care

Network Spinal is one of those chiropractic techniques that has taken the rightness in each perspective of chiropractic and begun to distill that rightness down into a practice of what approach is most appropriate for a person throughout each stage of their healing journey.  To do this, network practitioners are focused on reconnecting all aspects of a person through addressing compromises to the integrity of the nervous system.

The nervous system can be compromised by vertebral subluxations, structural shifts in the spine that distort the nervous system.  This neurological distortion can lead to behavioral and perceptual shifts as well as inefficiency in the function of the body. Through making gentle contacts at different levels of the spine rich with receptors, chiropractors can remind the body to re-engage with areas that were previously disconnected. As the body re-engages, it begins to reorganize using it’s own breath and movement to shift into healthier positions.

Network Spinal

People come to the chiropractor in all stages of health and healing, however there are 4 levels or seasons of network care that we all oscillate between in different aspects of our lives: Discover, Transform, Awaken, and Integrate.

Discover: Connecting back to your broken parts

This level is about connecting back to your body and releasing stored tension.  As this stored tension is released it leads to increased spinal and neural integrity as well as increased energy to fuel the beginnings of change in your body.  During the Season of Discover in your life, you’re in search for safety and stability in the middle of what seems like chaos.  You are primarily driven by fear and reaction to the circumstances of life that appear to be changing rapidly. If you are in pain or sick and feel like you have no control over it you may be in the Season of Discover.  This Season begins with feelings of disempowerment, disconnection, and limitation in your ability to enjoy life, and in resolution allows you to reconnect with yourself and develop an appreciation for everything that is you.

Transform: The only constant is change

This level of care is about your body and nervous system developing more efficient strategies to navigate life, release tension, and adapt to the world around you. During the Season of Transform, the things you used to view as problems become challenges. As you begin to overcome these challenges, new opportunities for growth arise and momentum builds towards the goals and aspirations you may have worked hard in the past to achieve but always seemed far off. You begin to work smarter instead of harder, and shed the illusions of all of the stories in life that used to hold you back from who you were truly meant to be.  If you find yourself constantly seeking more in life and redefining who you are, you may be in the Season of Transform.

Awaken:  Life is divine and I have gifts to give the world

This level of care is all about connecting back to your heart and soul, moving from a focus of what does the world give me to what can I give back. During the Season of Awaken you begin to recognize our interconnectedness and interdependence with your family, friends, community, and the world. This state of being is marked by feelings like gratitude, awe, love, wonderment, generosity, and selflessness.  If you weigh your decisions based on “we” rather than “I”, you feel an effortlessness to life, you feel connected to God, and you regularly give for the sake of giving, you’re most likely in the Season of Awaken.

Integrate:  To everything there is a season

Life wouldn’t be life if we didn’t experience all of these seasons on a spectrum, and there is a time to experience them all.  In the Season of Integrate we are able to more effectively incorporate elements of each season and the wisdom we’ve gained from them to more resourcefully use our energy and more effortlessly navigate life.  No two individuals are the same, and we all experience life differently and have different gifts to give.  The season of integrate is where we take the tools we’ve developed and use them in the way that’s most authentic to our design to be the best versions of ourselves we can be.
